MEET DYLAN:

Hi, my name is Dylan! This past summer I worked from home as a Marketing Intern at Fit Factory. With the craziness of the world that we are all more than familiar with at this point, working remotely is a thing of the present.  Fit Factory has taken the right steps to ensure that business can operate as normal, even when away from the office. My supervisor, Sharilynn Brown has been consistently available to meet or answer quick questions using Google Hangouts. Anytime I needed a little extra guidance, my questions were answered quickly! It was like Sharilynn was only down the hall. The whole team was always available to chat and I worked with all members of the Fit Factory marketing team. I felt like I was a valued member of the team and my work felt meaningful and important.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE DAY TO DAY:

Work was assigned to me through Asana, a software centered around collaboration in the workplace. Asana made it easy to view tasks and Sharilynn left me in-depth instructions on how to do tasks as well as which ones to prioritize. My day always started with viewing and recording membership leads to each respective club. I also was tasked with double-checking the upcoming online schedule for virtual classes to ensure all links worked correctly and redirected the correct class. After that, my days were always different and exciting. My tasks ranged from designing creative on Canva to doing localized marketing research for our club locations to editing and creating blog posts through the back end of our website to updating TV signage throughout all of our clubs! There is always something new to learn each day which has created a rewarding and priceless professional experience.

CONCLUSION

While I'm sad it is coming to an end, my time at Fit Factory has provided me with priceless professional experience and the tools to move forward in my professional life knowing with a step ahead of other undergraduates!
